Disinformation in the AI Age

Given the significant advancements in generative artificial intelligence technology in recent years, the prevalence of AI-generated information has skyrocketed. While access to information can certainly be a good thing, AI models are not unbiased.

Both the AI's programming and the nature of the technology itself can cause disinformation, which can be very harmful on an individual and public level. In particular, false claims about science and health can lead to dangerous misunderstandings on topics like chemical safety, climate change, and medication.

The purpose of this course is to give you the tools you need to determine whether or not a source is AI generated, encourage you to have a reasonable doubt when viewing a new source, and show you how to find trustworthy information on the internet. By completing this course, you will be well-protected against AI-based disinformation.
